Former correctional officer in Oregon got hit with $114k in fines and a lifetime hunting ban after a poaching investigation. Dude had nearly 30 firearms and a bunch of animal carcasses seized.

42 months probation plus 600 hours community service. They're not messing around with poaching cases anymore.

Oregon is expanding Medicaid to help some members buy groceries now. Fruits, vegetables, pantry staples covered for eligible folks with serious medical conditions who struggle with food costs.

Seems like a decent approach to health - addressing actual nutrition gaps instead of just treating symptoms later.
