Former correctional officer in Oregon got hit with $114k in fines and a lifetime hunting ban after a poaching investigation. Dude had nearly 30 firearms and a bunch of animal carcasses seized.

42 months probation plus 600 hours community service. They're not messing around with poaching cases anymore.
Oregon is expanding Medicaid to help some members buy groceries now. Fruits, vegetables, pantry staples covered for eligible folks with serious medical conditions who struggle with food costs.

Seems like a decent approach to health - addressing actual nutrition gaps instead of just treating symptoms later.
Anyone else missing hiking season? Been too cold lately but ready to hit the trails again.
Portland MLB stadium funding passed the Oregon House. $800 million in bonds headed to Governor Kotek's desk. Could actually happen.
Wildfire season's officially here. Kotek declared a state of emergency and fire officials are telling everyone to sign up for alerts.

Time to check those go-bags again.
Portland Fire finally snapped their losing streak. Clipped the Dallas Wings last night. Expansion team finding its rhythm.

Curious how this actually plays out on the ground. Anyone here directly affected?

Curious how big the Portland Fire is going to be here. Are people planning to follow the team this season, or is it mostly a novelty for now?

They finally brought the elk statue back to downtown Portland. It's been gone since 2020 when it got removed during the protests. Feels like a small sign of the city trying to reclaim its identity. Anyone been down to see it yet? Worth the trip?
